Teriyaki Beef with Sesame Apple
Preparation: 5 minutes, plus marinating
Cooking: 10 minutes
Serves 4
600 g rump steak, trimmed of all fat
½ cup teriyaki marinade
4 small
25 g butter
2 tspn sesame oil
4 green onions, finely sliced
1 tspn sesame seeds, toasted
Jasmine rice to serve
Place the rump steak in
a bowl and pour over the marinade. If possible leave to marinate in the fridge
for a few hours. Heat a non-stick pan or char grill over medium heat. Add the
rump steak, reserving the marinade. Cook for 3 minutes on
each side or until cooked to your liking. Stir in the remaining marinade
and cook for 1 minute or until the mixture bubbles.
Cut each apple quarter into 3 slices.
Heat the butter and sesame oil in a non-stick pan. Cook the apple slices for 1 -
2 minutes on each side or until tender and cooked. Thinly slice the steak,
scatter with green onion and sesame seeds. Accompany with sesame apple and steamed
jasmine rice.
